VCF Welcomes Five New TeammatesWith every new year comes new and exciting opportunities. At Virginia Commercial Finance we are grateful for all the opportunities 2016 blessed us with and are excited about what 2017 has in store. We are continuing to grow as an organization and are excited to announce that we have five new teammates joining us to start off 2017.

Gabriele Duke has joined our Loan Administration team as our newest Collateral Analyst. Gabriele was born in Lithuania and emigrated to the United States when she was 3 years old. She has lived in Richmond for over 20 years which led her to study at Virginia Commonwealth University. She studied Painting and Printmaking before graduating with a degree in Applied Mathematics. Her passions include painting, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her family.

Sarah Porter has recently joined Virginia Commercial Finance as an Office Administrative Assistant in the Operations department. Sarah is a University of Virginia 2015 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a passion for financial services. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys reading and travelling. A Newport News native, Sarah is excited to be in Richmond and become a part of the VCF team.

Thomas Palermo is the newest member of the field examination team at VCF. Prior to entering our organization, Thomas was employed by Capital One Bank, for whom he managed several branches across the districts of Queens and Long Island, New York. Over the past four years, he has helped oversee and develop upwards of one hundred associates. In 2013 and 2014, Thomas was appointed to the Advisory Council for Capital One Bank, and was responsible for creating and implementing enhancements in the areas of recruiting, auditing, fraud detection, and personnel management. During this period, his contributions were repeatedly recognized by the President’s office of the bank. Thomas was previously employed by Bank of America where he served as a credit analyst in Newark, New Jersey, managing numerous portfolios. He earned his B.A. in Communications & Finance from Hofstra University in 2010.

Charlie Nuttle has been called out of retirement to assist VCF’s Sales Team.  Charlie has 30 years of experience in the Asset Based Lending space and will serve part-time as a mentor, teacher, and New Business Analyst.  Charlie worked for VCF from 2009 – 2011 serving as Senior Corporate Advisor.  With his extensive knowledge, he will allow us to evaluate additional potential clients while sharing his experience and developing our Sales Team.  Charlie is enjoying retirement and spending time on the golf course.  He has lived in Richmond for 47 years with his wife of 41 years. He is a father to one son.

Sandy Gumm joined the VCF team in November 2016 as an Executive Assistant. She is helping support the organization by providing a variety of administrative support to the CEO and his staff. Previously she worked in the Power Service Industry for 25 years at Alstom Power, where she held a variety of challenging but rewarding roles from Receptionist to Executive Administrative Assistant. Sandy is experienced in providing office support and assistance to all levels of management in Sales, Finance, Project Management, Human Resources and Legal Departments.
