Plageman has joined our firm as Vice President, Business Development Officer.  Charles will focus on middle market companies with asset based lending requests of $2MM and higher.  He will concentrate his calling efforts on contacts and customers within the Mid-Atlantic and the Carolinas.

Charles has a unique career background, having spent time on both sides of the desk.  He spent over 10 years as a real estate and commercial small business and middle market lender for Signet Bank (then First Union) and Bank of America.  He comes to us after having spent the last 13 years as a small business owner.

“We are very pleased to have Charles join the VCF team.” said John McCauley, CEO of VCF.  “With his vast experience as both a lender and a business owner dedicated to excellent customer service, Charles will be a perfect complement to VCF’s Sales Team.  VCF has offered Working Capital to hundreds of companies for more than 20 years and I am excited about increasing our ability to reach more businesses throughout the Mid-Atlantic territory and providing them quality Working Capital funding.”

Charles graduated from Virginia Military Institute with a degree in economics and from the University of Richmond with an MBA.  He has served on a number of school and non-profit boards over the course of his career to include St. Joseph’s Villa, Benedictine College Prep and the VMI Keydet Club.
